Unit of thrust

When we walk on sand we leave our foot prints in the sand. This is due to the weight of our body which acts normal to the surface of contact - the foot and sand. Similarly when we want to stick a picture in a scrap book we apply a force normal to the surface of the paper. Such force acting normally on a surface is called thrust . Thus, the net force acting normal to a surface is called thrust .  Thrust is a vector quantity . Definition of thrust Thrust - Total force acting perpendicular to the surface.
